Shoo 7asheesh ma 7asheesh?

Note to self: Do NOT dare to even THINK of smoking pot in the UAE.

Another note to self: Kiss your cigarette papers and bong goodbye. Seriously!

Kaho Na Kaho!

Dear to whom it may not concern …

I was driving one of my colleagues back to her place because she lives close by, when Amr Diab’s classic “tamally ma3ak” came on the radio. It was all fine till she said she likes this song a lot, but she prefers the original version …!!! WTF!

What original version?“, I asked.

The original hindi version … Oh it’s so amazing, Who-sane, you should listen to it,” she proudly replied.

I was this close to bitch-slapping her!

We’re not the only ones …

Dear to whom it may not concern …

It’s an undeniable fact: the majority of Arabs know how to pronounce the letter P, but they just DON’T want to, either because it “doesn’t matter” … or because it’s “difficult to prounounce it” and my favorite is … “mosh bainna ya zalameh!” …. of course that’s when you dare and correct someone!

Well excuse me, but … LA2 BAINNA W NOSS! Then you give the old and neverending lesson, how people and beebol are NOT the same, how park and bark are NOT the same, how pray and bray are NOT the same, and big and pig are NOT the same, etc, etc … Some get really confused, so they start prounouncing everything with a P … “ohh … very peautiful!” … or “woow very pig“.

More on Maradona

Just to clear any doubts and to nip them in the bud.

I realize it’s a big deal to meet Maradona. He’s a legend and all, and to the majority of us he’s the best soccer player ever! But that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t meet people in his life, especially if it’s for business!

So yes, I have been extremely fortunate to meet Maradona, I got to spend time with him, his ex-wife, his daughter and her boyfriend. I’m so proud of it and they were two of the best days of my entire life!

Through his interpreter, we talked, we exchanged views, he even talked about politics, we took photos together and what touched me the most is that after he went back to Argentina his publicist called me to thank me with Maradona next to him. Maradona then took the phone and said something long, but the only thing I understood was: "thank you".

And now I’ll be posting some pictures that the world will see for the first time. YES, they have never been published before! EVER!!

Good and Bad News from Jordan!!

This is not an attempt to compete with ghrab el bain, aka bad news herald, aka Mohanned!

Just a bunch of news I came across this morning while reading a couple of dailies:

1- 24-year-old Lina Ejeilat (not sure if she’s the same Lina the blogger, TBC) and 21-year-old Sara Al Badri have both won the BBC’s News Maker competition, granting them the opportunity to broadcast to over 42 million BBC listeners around the world. Read the BBC story here. Mabrook! It’s a nice!

2- if you wake up one day in Al Azraq with one kidney, there’s a committee now that you can go and whine to! Itsa VERY nice!

3- A woman in Jordan poisoned her husband to death, but felt he didn’t get what he really deserves, so she chops him up in pieces, but that wasn’t enough … so she burns him. That’s because, according to her, he used to force her to sell her body. Poor girl couldn’t handle the prostitution, yet the next day after killing him in cold-blood, she asks her lover to help her get rid of the burnt body! Then they go to make a sexy time … Itsa a very nice too! NOT!
