I attended a workshop on Earth Day last week and a world-renown United Nations expert, the regional director of the UNDP to be specific, presented some very interesting figures on pollution, poverty, and other health issues.
One particular figure on a sociomedical issue really grabbed my attention where Jordan ranked number one! Thought I’d share that with you.
Jordan ranked the first Arab country in teenage smoking!
The figures indicated that the percentage of smoking teenagers of the age group 13-15 is more than 35%! In addition, Jordan spends more than 600 million JDs on tobacco and expenditures associated to smoking, per year.

wow impressive..way to go jordan..but in all seriousness…i do not know how people smoke…especially in this time and age..ya3ni there is so much awarness and everyone knows how horrible it maybe they should be sent to a cancer center to see other with lung cancer and other smoking related diseases..
hubby is a smoker and i hate it..i always wonder how can a person who is so smart be so freakin stupid!
