MARHABA DUBAI!

That’s how Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler started their last night’s incredible concert in Dubai: MARHABA DUBAI!
It was really cool hearing Steven Tyler speaking in Arabic, even if it was just one word, still it’s cool! And that’s how Steven Tyler looked like last night. Frankly, I thought he looked and sounded extraordinary, considering he’s 59 years old and was recently treated from Hepatitis C.
The concert was amazing! The band’s overall performance was superb! It was so great to the point where me and my buddies (who thought they were more into hip-hop) would’ve seriously considered flying to Bangalore, India, to attend their concert there, if only it wasn’t so soon (on the June 2nd).
It took us a while to get there, but there were 20 thousand more than 40 thousand other people heading to the same venue, so a 45 minutes drive wasn’t really that bad. Everything was very well organized, and everyone thought the organizers did a really great job: the parking was easy, the entrance and exit smooth, save for the catering and the bars, which was disastrous, but that was the catering service’s fault and not the organizers’s. I missed my favorite song ’Dream On’ because I had to wait for 30 minutes to get ONE lousy drink from the bars outside. Unlike most of Arab singers (Amr Diab, Ragheb Alameh and others) who have no problem leaving their crowd waiting for hours to go on stage (Once we waited two F’n hours for Amr Diab to show up. Never attended any of his concerts again.), Aerosmith showed up just in time. However, we all thought the concert was short, but I guess that’s because we couldn’t get enough of them, and two hours wasn’t much.
The band played their greatest hits along with some really mind-blowing solos performed by the one-and-only, Joe “FUCKING” Perry. Steven Tyler sounded GREAT and even pulled on a couple of harmonica performances that totally rocked the crowd!
The crowds went insane to the tune of “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” and sang along with the band.
The crowd also went hysterical to the sounds of Dude Looks Like a Lady, Jaded, What it Takes, Cryin’, Dream On, I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing, and some other brilliant songs.
Cryin’
Joe Perry’s solos weren’t the only solos that bewildering solo performances, Steven Tyler also pulled a couple of amazing harmonica solos that totally rocked the crowd! Listen to the harmonica on Cryin’ that I managed to catch on video.
Steven Tyler singing ’What it Takes’
The BEST part of the concert was when Steven Tyler walked back on stage with a belly dancer! And started belly dancing with her … That was totally unexpected and simply wonderful!
Jaded
Vegas of the East
The band also enjoyed their stay in what Steven Tyler described during a press conference held a day before the concert as “Vegas of the East”.
“It’s beautiful, it’s insane … Yesterday I was out riding camels, last night I was eating camels … and smoking a few”, jokingly said Steven Tyler. Here is footage of the press conference held on the 30th of May.
Thank you Aerosmith for passing by and having a Middle Eastern country on your world tour. And here is the final credits Steven Tyler gave to his band, with emphasis on Joe “FUCKIN” Perry.
UPDATE: My post was the first to be featured on The Official Aerosmith Fan Club Website: is that really cool or what?
