Lo and behold the long overdue victory!
Lo and behold: the New Wonder of the World.
Everything else (below) doesn’t matter now, as last night, the whole world bowed in respect for the rose-red, half as old as time, city, voted for its Engineering and Protection attributes.

Read this first: Al Giza Pyramids have been pre-chosen as one of the Wonders of the World, but our Egyptian brothers thought they were disqualified for some reason, although the Pyramids are the only remaining wonders of the world. I was just reading an article on Alarabiya.net on the controversy surrounding the new 7 wonders of the world. There was no controversy in the article, the only thing I found controversial are all the stupid comments on the article. The sad thing is that these comments are not written by the ordinary people in the streets and not the cab drivers, but by Egyptian internet users, who supposedly are the educated people in Egypt. I find it strange, and sad, how our neighboring nations become so filled with envy and venom just because they think they might lose a little portion of their tourism income. We’ve always supported tourism in Egypt. Who didn’t go to Egypt at least once? Most Arabs have been to Egypt at least once or twice in their lives, I personally traveled to Egypt more than 10 times, either for business or pleasure, but why now, that another Arab country is on the verge of being ranked alike with the Pyramids of Egypt, that Egyptians became so defensive and cynical of that fact? Should Egypt monopolize the tourism business in the Middle East? Apparently we’re not allowed to get a piece of the cake. Perhaps because our streets, and more importantly our PEOPLE, are cleaner, that our neighbors in Egypt are scared Petra might become get categorized in the same level as the Pyramids. Some have even went to claim that Petra is Egyptian. How absurd is that?

I personally thing Petra is above such silly voting! Comparing Petra(or the pyramids) to a couple of decades old Opera House in Sydney is an insult to our heritage
Petra is already a wonder, and I’m so afraid it will be marginalized If it lost the voting. But I hope it does win.

Petra is one of 7 mabroooooooooooooooook to jordan.
Petra is no 2 of the 7.
Petra is not Egyptian, Palestinian or even Jordanian, it maybe be considered Nabatian, but most definitly it belongs to Human Heritage, thats the significance of it being one of the 7 wonders of the “World”. otherwise its just another structure in Jordan, just like the Jwaideh prison,which maybe considered another wonder of the world in its own special, dark way.
Actually jwaideh prison is much appreciated because it keeps us safe in this dark “world”. Petra was built by alians just like the pyramids, jordan is not a country and jordanians are worse than zionists… This life is just a scam which reminds of jim carry’s the truman show..

Look, I value all the wonderful monuments around the world. The Great Pyramids is not about tourism, but about true appreciation of true wonder. Like it or not there is no other structure on this planet like the pyramids. And if you don’t agree, then you need to spend more time watching the discovery and history channel. The whole voting thing was simply stupid! Enough said.
If you watch the discovery and history channel you would also know that only 1% of petra has been excavated, It is just silly how people think..But It all goes back to the fact that some arabs considers jordan a country without a right to exist or even celebertae anything and thats my friend what is called “Envy”, and we shall move forward..

My friend, no one is taking anything away from Jordan, but you can’t be possibly thinking that Petra is more of a wonder than the GREATE PYRAMIDS..COME NOW!
On the other hand, I now realize that voting on something like this requires intellect and knowledge which makes this contest simply STUPID and INVALID. I completely lost interest and will not read nor post anymore! ciao ciao
