I recently came across ‘the 7 things some guys do that make women think they’re perverts’ post, which is fine, but can only apply to Westerners and their point of views.
So I thought of making a localized list, a guide, a manual - not necessarily for Arab men, but for men from any nationality making a living in the Arab world - on things they should NOT do when they’re around women. For this I’d like the help of my readers in putting this list together.
So for a start, I thought of the following points:
1. Scratching/rubbing/stroking your genitilia around women:
This does not make women think you have a long tool. If anything, it makes women, and everyone else for that matter, think you haven’t taken a shower for months.
2. Staring directly at a lady’s private areas: A quick look is ok I guess, but do not stare! Staring at a lady’s parts is not a compliment, if anything it’ll make you look like a dirty pig! If you’re talking to her then keep your eyes on her face.
3. Winking:
Why are there still men who think this is the best way to hook up with a girl? They are so past this, so stop doing it!
4. Offering a lady walking in the street a ride:
The girl is just enjoying her walk. She’s not waiting for the next idiot in a car to hop in with. If she wants a drive she’ll take a taxi.
5. Deliberately showing off your money or your numerous Gold credit cards:
Unless you’re at the infamous Cyclone, this does not work!
6. Expecting sex out of a short-term relations:
You guys know how things are in this part of the world. You can’t get lucky all the time.
7. Do not talk about sex, especially on a first date:
If you do that, you’ll be committing romantic suicide. Do not talk about sex or your previous sexual experiences.
8. Not every girl who talks to you wants to sleep with you:
This is a universal rule, but it’s more of a problem in this part of the world. Believe it or not, there are girls out there who are interested in friendship and friendship ONLY. It may be too difficult for some guys to grasp, but it’s true.
9. Not every girl that flirts with you wants to sleep with you:
Men should be accustomed to this by now. Some girls are just flirtatious by nature but that does not mean she’s hinting for something.
10. If a girl smiles at you, that does not mean she’s got the hots for you:
Just smile back and walk wherever the hell you were going. A simple smile is not a green light, it’s just a smile.
11. Hitting on your girlfriend’s best friend doesn’t constitute as trying to get closer to your girlfriend. It means you’re hitting on her.

In this age of e-communication, sending a dirty joke to a girl through an e-mail or SMS does is one of the most stupid ways to test her “willingness” to engage in a relation. I am amzed how many guys use this method and still continue with it after countless occasions of being humilated.

I think number 8 should be taking off the list.
There really is no man in his right mind who thinks that just because a girl talked to him, she wants to sleep with him or is interested in him. Men don’t approach girls or continue to harrass them because they think the girl is interested in them. They do it because they [the men] are interested in the girl. They don’t respond to a perceived sense of attraction from the girl, they try to win it.
It’s actually the other way around. Women are the ones who are more likely to think that a man wants to have sex with them if he starts talking to them. Granted, this is true a lot of the times, it is still not true all of the times, which makes this rule more applicable to women than men.
Don’t tell your the girl that you start dating that you had dreamt that you had sex with her!
It happened with a friend of mine, and she dumped him instantly!

Who-sane, no, I don’t think you got my point.
Yes, men get excited when a girl talks to them, but it is not because they suddenly believe this girl wants some action from them. Guys don’t ask themselves “which girl wants to sleep with me?”, they ask “which girl would agree to sleep with me?” They get excited when a girl talks to them, because they see an opportunity to give it a shot. In other words, they’re not excited because they think the girl has already made up her mind, but because they might have a chance in the future. This is not what No. 8 says.
On the other hand, girls are the ones who are constantly, not asking, but telling themselves “he’s just another guy who wants to sleep with me,” and they say this about any guy that approaches them or starts to be friendly with them.
So like I said, granted most guys only befriend women they are sexually attracted to, not all guys are like that, and this is what this No. 8 was made for.
It applies more to girls than it does to guys.
I think I got your point Hamzeh but disagree with you on it although it may also be true that it applies to girls more.
What I’m saying is this: if a guy wants to have sex with a girl and he tried a move or two on her and she replied back, this guy, pervert, whatever, might think talking back to him is a green light to go on. Do you still disagree?
