(Setting: Chilling with a new friend on campus)
Me: Dude, do you see that girl over there wearing the striped jacket?
New friend: yeah, what about her?
Me: I heard she’s getting jiggy with that guy over there!
New friend: Dude, that girl is my cousin!!
Me (realizing I screwed up): No man! NOT the girl in the striped jacket! I meant the girl standing next to her! Yeah!
New friend: DUDE!!! THAT’S MY SISTER!!!!
Me (stands up, checks watch): Ummm, ok … I think my lecture just started … bye!
That was the end of gossiping for me.
